"Aberglaube: Archaeologen finden Hinweise auf Untoten-Bestattung"
Daniel Nösler, archaeologist working for the Stade region, was looking at old photos of excavations in the "Kreuzgang" of what was left of the former Monastry of Harsefeld. He noticed a very large stone that seemed to have been put deliberately into a grave at the place of the skull, and at a later time than the actual burial. Measures against the deceased coming back as a "Wiedergänger" or so it would seem.
The Monastery of Harsefeld existed between 1104 and 1648. The burial of the suspect corpse took place in the 14th or the 15th Century.
The remains of Kloster Harsefeld (AKA Kloster Rosenfeld) can be found in Harsefeld, somewhat to the South-West of Hamburg.
There is the article on the SPIEGEL website to check out. There are photos. Plus there may be reports, sketches and further photos about these excavations.
