WWW.SHROUDEATER.COM - The Vampire of Chateau des Eperviers - FRANCE
"Le Vampire en France - des Origines a nos Jours"
Ed. Juste Pour Lire, France, 2010
This - more or less - is the story. A Venetian nobleman called the Marquis de Ponte for some reason ended up at the Chateau des Eperviers and - according to the report - met a woman of exceptional beauty who must have been a vampire. For after this meeting the aristocrat's corpse was found somewhere along the road, completely drained of blood.
Sadly, no date is given.
The Chateau des Eperviers can be found in in Saint-Cirgues-en-Montagne, Ardèche, Rhône-Alpes, France. Somewhere halfway between Lyon and Montpellier.
First you can find and read Jacques Sirgent's book. This gentleman informs us that he found the story in a book by Patrick Ravignant (probably his "Histoire des Sorcières"). Ravignant must have read the story somewhere. Perhaps he reveals us his sources... We can also try to find out more about the gentleman from Venice.
